Codicote Neighbourhood Plan 2024 - 2031 Submission

Appendix E - Project Plan

Representation ID: 10586

Received: 07/02/2025

Respondent: Hertfordshire County Council - Environment & Infrastructure Department

Representation Summary:

Fire & Rescue Service: Appendix E, It is noted that a project has been identified to introduce a 7.5T weight limit to make roads safer. While HCC appreciate the rational for this Herts Fire and Rescue Service vehicles have a minimum carrying capacity of 19 tonnes and would therefore have serious repercussions on the services ability to respond in an emergency.

Highways: COD6 refers to providing new parking provision within the village and requiring development to contribute towards it which is not in alignment with Local Transport Plan 4 specifically Policy 1: Transport User Hierarchy- to support the creation of built environments that encourage greater and safter use of sustainable transport modes. Linked here: https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/media-library/documents/about-the-council/consultations/ltp4-local-transport-plan-4-complete.pdf

There is a mention of Travel Plans in the neighbourhood plan which is welcome, it should be noted that all travel plan contributions must be secured via Section 106 legal agreements. The HCC Active Travel Strategy 2024 and the Travel Plan Guidance 2020 documents should be referred to also.
