I am writing to let you know that the proposal to site 1830 new homes around Stevenage as outlined in your Local Plan is not sustainable. It will have a disproportionate affect on the local communities, especially Graveley. A much reduced number of houses should be built on these open, Green belt fields with a greater margin of open ground left between the town boundary and the village. Also consideration should be given to the access through Church Lane to the proposed 'Round Wood' development at Great Ashby. Allowing access for all these houses to use Church Lane will destroy the very aspect that currently makes Graveley Church and the surrounding countryside a Conservation Area. If planning is worth any merit, then surely those making these decisions can see that this would be a travesty.
