Objection to AS1 on the grounds of:
- setting in the village.
- a large housing development on this skyline site is most inappropriate for the village
- views - gentle and rural
- valued landscape of this area should be protected.
I object to the Local Plan concerning this site chiefly on the grounds of its setting in the village.
A large housing development on this skyline site is most inappropriate for the village of Ashwell. I feel such a complex of housing at this position will seriously affect the views of many entering and leaving the village as well as those making full use of village roads, pavements and rights of way. This applies to a large number of viewpoints in the village and North, South, East and West of Ashwell. I believe it very important to preserve the present gentle and rural view of Ashwell for both those residents of the village and for those entering the village for the first time. To come across the housing development that is planned would be an abomination. The valued landscape of this area should be protected.
Please alter this aspect of the NHDC Local Plan.
