Objection to SP14 - BA1:
- too much house building
- doesn't have the infrastructure - need 2 more nursery's, 3 infants and junior schools and a bigger secondary school
- roads and traffic
- town doesn't have enough employment to sustain the amount of houses
I am writing about the house building in Baldock, personally I think the suggested amount is to much, I agree maybe 500 on Clothall would be enough no more, the town doesn't have the infrastructure for this amount of houses schools already over crowded so would need 2 more nursery's, 3 infants and junior schools and a bigger secondary school already the land is nearly all built on, let alone the roads and traffic issues this may cause when building houses and more roads. The town also doesn't have enough employment to sustain this amount of houses.

Object on the following grounds:
football facilities are already over subscribed; and
new sports facilities needed to accommodate the additional demand.
I am writing to say about the local football facilities in Baldock, I have lived in Baldock all my life played for youth football and the first team when reformed and for a few years the reserves, I have recently been helping out with what were the under 9s now 10s.
I also played 5 a side locally to, the main problem in Baldock is facilities for football mainly a pitch for the adult teams with sufficient changing rooms, but also as a club as 1 to come together through all ages, and have a strong community spirit with parents coaches adults etc.
This is vital Letchworth have an all in 1 community pitches and facilities, this needs to be looked at in Baldock. Could bring a community together and the club will prosper as 1 but also financially as all under 1 roof with changing rooms a clubhouse and local facilities so the team can come together, at the moment it's all over the place with local school pitches no changing rooms Knights Templar field changing rooms shared with members of public at the sports centre, the arena which is owned by people out of Baldock, and latterly the first team playing at Hitchin and paying money and now Stotfold, I would expect bigger crowds if Baldock was in Baldock and residents using there money into the clubhouse, when I was younger I enjoyed going to Norton Road playing pool in the clubhouse, and watching the players, with coaches. Need to bring back these days to the town and the community and for the children a good pyramid structure all under 1 venue.
