As a Luton resident I wish to raise my objections to the aforementioned plan

- Brown field sites - there are a number of brown field sites in the Luton area which, under government guidelines, should be used for housing ahead of the use of, and to ensure protection of, Green Belt land.

- Exceptional circumstances - the use of land in Hertfordshire is not an exceptional circumstance when Luton has land of its own which can be used for housing. The answer is not to take a remote part of Hertfordshire, ruin village life and create an urban sprawl for which there is no proper infrastructure.

- Planning - once a change of use has been granted to green belt land any builder will squeeze as much as possible onto a site without much thought for the impact but with a lot of thought to profit. Smaller developments please.

- Roads - there is an assumption about new and realigned roads which is unlikely to happen given the spiralling costs of such developments. Once permission is granted for anything there is no going back, however misguided.

- Traffic - the impact on traffic has been unrealistically measured against a proposed new road and an assumption of further development. The roads in this area are overly congested, particularly at peak times now and there is no possibility of improving them. Traffic would have to pass at least 2 schools and a doctors surgery even to get to a main road.

- Airport - it is Luton's aim to expand the airport but have already made a huge mess of the road structure in the area. Massive delays are going to get worse and the possibility of 2,100 homes with potentially 4200 additional cars on the roads around the airport is ludicrous.
