Support CGB3: Must be suitable and genuinely affordable to workers
If a permanent home is given planning permission, it must be suitable and AFFORDABLE for an agricultural worker (rather than just the landowner). (There have been cases where a business was profitable, a house built, the business run down, the agricultural restrictions lifted because no agricultural worker could afford it, the agricultural buildings converted to further homes.)

Respondent: Hitchin Town Action Group (HTAG)
Support CGB3:
- support provision for rural workers' dwellings although consider that the removal of agricultural occupancy conditions should be strengthened such that any housing surplus to employment requirements is not sold as market housing but is retained as affordable housing for the benefit of the local community.
