Support for ETC7
As Ashwell has lost it's post office/newspaper shop and it's takeaway in the past two years this policy could have helped us save two outlets that were important for the community life of Ashwell - especially the post office.

Objection ETC7:
- specific retail sites (Hitchin) not be mentioned at previous stages(not subject to prior consultation), instead referring (ETC7) to the preparation of town centre strategies for reviewing retail floor-space required after 2021.
- draft proposals town centres map did not identify any locations for additional floor-space
- scale of change proposed is not required within the time scale up to 2026, and would be detrimental to the town centre (Hitchin) as a whole
- total retail figure should be reduced and a different strategy for the town centre (Hitchin) would be appropriate to provide for incremental change
