Respondent: Great Ashby Community Council

Representation Summary:

As the largest parish in North Herts with 5,500+ residents there are currently no medical or health facilities. Meanwhile Knebworth, with a population of only £4,500 has been granted planning permission for a library and second doctors' surgery. It is concerning to note that Great Ashby is only earmarked for two additional GP's to be determined in consultation with the health service providers. The Community Council is concerned that this might simply result in enhancement to existing practices in Stevenage as has occurred to cope with Great Ashby's previous development in the last 15 years
