Representation Summary:

Object to scale of development in and around Stevenage (general): loss of walks, views, traffic, infrastructure (local services), drop in house values

Full text:

I object against building 17809 houses in and around Stevenage for many reasons the country walks and views will disappear, our local services will be overstretched, traffic will be heavier and nearby houses will drop in value. Instead we need more business investments in Stevenage and most of the shops in Stevenage have closed down.

As a resident(I live in Graveley) of North Herts for over 72 years I feel able to put forward my concerns for the amount of new housing which is being proposed in the future. I guess you will read this and say why is she concerned it won't affect her in the future, which is possibly correct, but the next generation rely on us to help keep their countryside in existence. This is something I urge you to think most seriously about when deciding your final plan. You say the government has decreed that you build for the future and I appreciate there will always be a need for housing, but please look at brownfield sites before you as a council do away with some of our beautiful countryside. Another of my big concern is the amount of traffic which is now using our local roads. At times it is almost gridlock now, adding to this will obviously make matters worse.
The future of our countryside is on your shoulders and I sincerely hope you will not have the loss of it on your conscience after your decision.
PLEASE THINK REALLY REALLY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOUR DECISION. I AM SURE YOU WILL.
Thank you for reading my email.
